World Book Day 2017

£1.00 book tokens will be issued to all Y7, Y8 and Y9 pupils during the week via tutors.  Years 10 and 11 can collect a token from the library if they would like one. The £1.00 books available this year include The Island by David Almond, Dead of Night by Michael Grant and Blob by David Walliams. dead-of-nightisland

There will be a quiz at lunchtime on Wednesday, 1st March, starting at 1.00 pm, as well as various activities throughout the week. On the day we will be showing promotional book trailers in the library at lunchtime. Look out for further information in the Daily Bulletin.

There will be a number of events taking place this week leading up to World Book Day on Thursday, 7th March 2013.  These include:

WBD quiz on Wednesday, 6th March starting at 1.05 pm.  Can enter as a team or individually but teams to be of no more than 4.  If you’re planning on taking part, you might want to have a look at the WBD website (link above)!

Book Swap – If you’ve got a book at home that you’ve read and don’t want to keep, bring it into the library and swap it for a book someone else has brought in.

Monday, 4th March – Year 7

Tuesday, 5th March – Year 8

Wednesday, 6th March – Year 9

Drop Everything and Read or Listen – In tutor time on Thursday 7th March all pupils and staff will be encouraged to read or listen to a story.

Book Trailers – Watch trailers of popular teenage fiction at lunchtime in the library on Thursday 7th March. Be inspired to read something new.

There is also a Bookmark competition for pupils to take part in and staff and pupils can also post a picture of their favourite book on FROG via their dashboard from Monday 4th March.

Book Tokens – £1 Book tokens will be given to all pupils in years 7, 8, 9 and 10.  If any Y11 pupil would like one, please come to the library.
