Wessex Schools Literary Festival

The final event of this year’s festival took place on Friday with a visit from the author Sarwat Chadda who has just published his latest book ‘Ash Mistry and the Savage Fortress’.  He did a workshop with one class of year 7s before giving a talk to over 60 year 7s about his book.  After reading a section of his book the pupils were then asked for their ideas on how to continue the story before acting it out.  It was a very lively session!

All pupils attending Sarwat’s talk and workshop are being asked to write a piece for the next parents newsletter describing their experience of the day.  They will be judged by the English Department and the winner will receive a signed copy of a poster.
