Eight year nine pupils enjoyed a workshop by the horror teenage fiction writer Andrew Hammond at Hamble School. He told them about how he became a writer, juggling it with a full-time teaching job, how he came up with the idea for the ‘Crypt’ series of books, how his first efforts were not ‘scary’ enough for today’s teenagers and how once he’s finished writing for the night, in his workshop at the bottom of his very dark garden, he had to ring his wife to come and collect him. He’d scared himself so much! The pupils were made to jump more than once when he read extracts from his book.
His second book ‘Crypt-Traitors Revenge’ has just been puplished and was on sale. Tim was the luck winner of the raffle to win a signed copy.
