Thornden pupils have participated in the Wessex Schools Literary Festival. On Monday a group of Year 8s enjoyed a presentation by Chris Bradford, author of the Young Samurai series of books. He enthralled them by talking about his books, Japanese culture and demonstrating his martial arts skills.
On Wednesday, a team of Year 7s competed in the inaugural Waterstone’s Wessex Literary Quiz held at Hounsdown School. They were up against 8 other teams from various schools and we are delighted to say that our team won. Beth Johnson, Monika Rhys-Jones, George Spence and James Veal were presented with the Waterstone’s cup.
